Reading Update

A day later than usual, but eh, the wonderful pocket dimension of TGIF/F left my schedule a little adrift, so whatever. Some non-fiction reads in this one.

Deep Work by Cal Newport

I found this one less motivating than his book on digital minimalism, but perhaps that's a given, with the latter having been written later and thus incorporating the ideas of this book too. This one is more focused on one's working day, however, so I still found some new utility in the concepts offered. (And, I suppose, it gave me the final kick in the butt I needed to get rid of twitter and facebook, because those were offering more irritation than use.)

This Fight Is Our Fight by Elizabeth Warren

A solid, wonkish read on how the present-day American economy has been hampered by the steady dismantling of post-Great Depression regulations. Good mix of narrative and data.
