Will wonders never cease, I actually consumed a non-book new-to-me thing this month.
We Are Lady Parts
A six-episode TV show about a British punk rock band of Muslim women in their late twenties. Super fun, great characters, and because I am incredibly predictable, my favourites are Amina, the microbiology PhD student with performance anxiety who gets recruited to be the band's lead guitarist, and Saira, the band's abrasive frontwoman who's nevertheless convinced Amina's the key to their success. Amina's parents are also delightful. Would recommend! (Probably will request it for Yuletide this year, if I do Yuletide)
Mass Effect 2
Finished the replay, suicide mission and all those DLC. Usual shitposting here.
Miranda and Mordin have the most fleshed out arcs in this game, everyone else feels a little empty in comparison. Love making Paragon!Shepard butt heads with them and shift their attitude. On this playthrough, Tali and Samara also stood out as having great stories.
Jack and Garrus were weirdly truncated for my Shepard who romanced neither of them - I expected Jack, since I remembered her telling me to fuck off all the time, but Garrus...I remember liking Garrus a lot more than I actually did while replaying. It's not the hotshot cop thing or anything like that, I think I just thought there'd be more conversation. (Non-romanced Tali also has only ~3 convos, but you talk so much more with her on her loyalty mission than you do with Garrus on his.) ME3 is where he really becomes your bro I think.
LotSB was as great as I remembered, I loved that stupid taxi chase and the Shepard/Liara arguments. I was going to play ME3 next immediately, but I've gotten myself into a Disco Elysium replay, so we'll see.
Juno Steel S3
Done with it! Longer form thoughts here and here, but I would like to re-iterate my annoyance that this season made me dislike Captain Who Consumes Ethanol Instead Of Food Because She's Mostly Engine/Doctor That Is Also Very Good At Stabbing People. And my newfound conviction that as fond as I am of found family as a trope, you have to do a looooot of work to not make me cringe if you actually say "family" in-universe.

Wrote a McCabe fic(spoilers for S2E7), because S2 has made me the distracted-boyfriend-meme about our ex-agents. Some cute TSCOSI fanart recs below!

Vox article about the Isabel Fall sitch - Decent piece, but I feel like there's a little too much blame allocated to Twitter The Website alone. I dunno, none of us are free from the influence of the structures we socialize within, but there are actually plenty of people on the blue hellsite who manage to not be jerks, or make strange assumptions.
