Rule 63 2020 Letter

Thanks for reading my letter! I have a little about what I like about each requested character/group below, along with some prompts, but if you already have something in mind for the tags we matched on, feel free to go for it. My tumblr is also jaggedwolf
General likes: Pining, competence, teamwork, loyalty kink, hurt/comfort, combat, found family, characters attempting to hide physical/emotional hurts, fake dating, casual touches, friends-to-lovers, humor, unexpected kindness, butch female characters
DNWs: Noncon, actually unrequited pining, underage (<16) sex, infidelity, unhappy endings, requested characters permanently dying, f/m featuring genderswapped characters, non-canonical f/m, trans headcanons
Rule 63 notes: All my requests are Always a 63 and F! versions of characters. I'm not uninterested in what might be different with these characters as women, particularly how the world reacts to them, but I would like the characters' personalities, style of dress and priorities to mostly remain the same as in canon. Other details for changed characters in their respective sections of the letter.
F!Zuko/F!Sokka (Always A 63, General Audiences & Explicit)
For these two, I'd like their names to stay the same. Mentions of their past canon relationships (Mai/Zuko, Sokka/Suki, Sokka/Yue) are fine by me.
Rewatching the show has reminded me about how much I love these two - far more average older siblings to their brilliantly talented younger sisters, more on the pessimistic side, struggling with very different feelings of insufficiency in the roles the war has left them. Those roles aren't exactly non-gendered in the show, but I'd love to see them embrace it anyway - F!Sokka is still a non-bender in a tribe with no warriors and so chooses to take that mantle on herself, F!Zuko still sees herself as the rightful heir to the throne (and gets that dagger from Iroh during the seige).
Anything about these two will please me, but I'm especially curious as to how they'd negotiate their post-war responsibilities with a relationship.
Prompts
- Swordfighting! Zuko has more training, but Sokka's more likely to play dirty, so anything about them sparring or showing each other the style they learned would be cool.
- Re-purposing Fire Nation technology. The Fire Nation's war tech seems way more advanced than the other nations - Zuko might be interested in putting those technologies to more peaceful purposes and sharing it, and Sokka might have the know-how and interest in helping to get that done.
- Writing letters to each other as they tackle their post-war responsibilities. Realizing/hiding feelings while writing these letters, sharing how their nations have changed, resisting the different ways tradition would like them to change now that it's peacetime, wanting to see each other but not wanting to impose.
A bunch of nerdy-ass voice actors sit around playing Dungeons and Dragons. The campaign 2 playlist is here. In the event they come off hiatus before exchange fics are out, feel free to assume that I'll stay caught up on the episodes if you want to include aspects from new ones.
F!Caleb Widogast/Beauregard Lionett (Always A 63, General Audiences & Explicit)
For this, I'd prefer Caleb's name(s) stays the same as it is canon.
Their canonical friendship is excellent in the way it's gone from awkward distrust to still awkward and bickering but rock solid alliance. I find myself fascinated by how Beau's attitude to F!Caleb might change, both in attraction and in the way Beau generally seems a little more protective of the female PCs. Or would F!Caleb's initial behaviour still set her off as much regardless? Does Beau hit on Caleb, and how does Caleb feel about that? They're both so smart and driven and were chosen by selective Empire institutions in their youth, and in their own ways are ready to hold those institutions accountable.
Prompts
- Either of them pushing themselves too far (Caleb and her magic, Beau and taking the hits), and the other one protecting/taking care of them during the fight or after.
- Seemingly unrequited pining, where they are both certain they are not the other one's type, all while doing research together by torchlight in the Cobalt libraries, or investigating some Empire institution, or some other team-up.
- Beau being targeted by a spell that she is particularly helpless too, as a non-magic user, and Caleb being the only one who can help. Perhaps even a spell that Caleb used/was used on Caleb back when she was under Trent's tutelage.
The Strange Case Of Starship Iris
Canon-specific DNW: Use of the actors' names as aliases/etc
A space opera podcast about the crew of a small smuggling ship finding themselves unraveling a government conspiracy. Found family feels, romance and purple aliens abound. There's a 10 episode season and 1 minisode out, with transcripts for the season here
I adore everyone in this show, but per my requests, I'm really interested in Park this go around. A boring complicit agent, yet tries to protect an underling and ends up playing a bigger role than anyone, including Park, expected. With some good dry and grumpy humor about life under the regime along the way.
I'd like F!Park's name to stay the same as it is canon. (Jin Seon can be a unisex name, and I think Park's joke about being 'Lenny' is made funnier by the discrepancy.) Feel free to have Shelly be Park's sister/friend/home AI/wife, as long as it abides by my infidelity DNW. If you pick wife, I would be curious to know what that was like with the IGR, since they are terrible about many things.
Sana Tripathi/F!Jin-seon Park (Always A 63, General Audiences & Explicit)
They feel like they're around the same age, and have take very different paths in navigating the rise of the IGR, and I'd love to see them interact more. (Park found Sana saying 'Lenny' memorable enough to bring it up! With the whole Zone Z experience in-between!) Park is going to be pretty weirded out by Sana's leadership style, despite all the eavesdropping, and Sana is bound to have feelings about both 1. This IGR agent that was listening in 2. This IGR agent who got very very hurt and helped them take down the New Jupiter lab. They both also seem very likely to steadfastly ignore feelings, so I wonder how that would play out.
(Tangentially, I wouldn't mind either or both of McCabe and Arkady playing a role in the ship get-together, or at least talking to their respective person about it. Because McCabe is bound to fuss over Park if they noticed, and Arkady deserves some revenge for all the times Sana's made fun of her)
Prompts
- Stuck together during a mission gone wrong. The rest of the crew is delayed from getting to them, so they have to work together in a way they normally don't. Maybe Park is very bad at admitting when her missing eye is making something harder, and maybe Sana is unreasonably optimistic about some dire-looking circumstances.
- Fake dating for a mission/to maintain cover. They are both likely to be terrible at it, so it would probably be really funny. Bonus if the crew is feedback over the comms.
- Alternate first-meeting. Park doesn't get released from Zone Z. The Rumor crew ends up stumbling across her while infiltrating Zone Z, while they have no idea who she is, she swears she recognizes those voices and wonders if she's hallucinating.
F!Jin Seon Park & None (Always A 63, General Audiences & Explicit)
I already discussed above what I'd like about Park and Sana interacting, but I'm super interested in Park&McCabe and Park & General Frederick (or Park/Frederick) interactions too.
Prompts
- Zone Z. Anything exploring Park's time there: learning exactly what goes on there, getting interrogated, how various injuries came about - which were from punishments, or experiments, or both, for instance - or of course, other Violet's people somehow getting in contact.
- Adjusting to post-finale life. It sounds like Park spent living the good IGR life, then had a very short, very painful time in Zone Z. Park might betray herself with ingrained instincts: Taking responsibility for a mistake of McCabe's, being careful about what to say about the captain when she's not around, twitching internally when regulations are broken. Or Park could be surprised by the protection of McCabe or someone else.
- A Rumor-crew style scheme! Something more light-hearted than the finale scheme, where Park gets to be very competent in some very illegal shenanigans while making dry remarks about the whole thing.
