Obi-Wan Kenobi
Pretty meh as a TV show but I turned my brain off for Star Wars as per usual and enjoyed watching very morose Obi-Wan hang out with precocious young Leia - this is the Leia iteration I've been most attached to. She was very good. Wish we'd gotten both the Anakin flashback and the obvious revelation of Reva's motivations earlier in the series. Probably only worth the watch if you are also an Obi-Wan fan.
Heartstopper
Exactly the slice-of-life teenage m/m show I expected it to be, was charmed by all these silly and/or sad kids and the various animations.
Ms Marvel
The cast for this show is so fucking good that it's unreal, especially Kamala Khan herself. If you liked the comics and/or teenage superhero shenanigans, would recommend! I also found it very easy to follow as a standalone series, I don't watch much Marvel stuff.
- The first half of episode 5 was very good and stressed me out even though I knew exactly what would happen at that train station. Kamala desperately clutching Sana while saying "I can't do stars, but I can do circles, okay?" got to me.
- The Clandestine plot was clunky for multiple reasons, but the funniest clunkiness came from Najma, who is fucking bonkers. She goes 0 to 100 when it comes to trying to murder both Kamala and Aisha, I couldn't even be surprised that she went from 100 to 0 about being a bad guy, merely grateful we were done with it. Najma is so much that I couldn't even ship her with Aisha like I initially wanted to, LOL.
- While I loved parts of the Karachi plot (Red Dagger! Nani! The flashbacks!), I genuinely could have watched an entire season (or even a longer one) that was solely street-level superheroics. The kids and Kamala's family were all very endearing, loved the ragtag crew holding off Damage Control at the high school and the entire neighbourhood claiming Ms Marvel as their own.
- Happy that both Dad Khan's and the imam's baller comic lines made it into the show.
- Yeah I ship both Kamran/Bruno and Kamala/Zoe (I am not immune to the dramatic staring after a superhero's very first rescue, okay, and Zoe kept Kamala's secret! I want fic!)
- Very very into how Ms Marvel the superhero is composed from so many of Kamala's people - the bangle belonging to her great-grandmother and then her grandmother, the mask Bruno made for her, the scarf Kareem gifts her, the outfit her mother sews (in turn inspired by Kamala's broken necklace when she used her powers), the name her father grants her.
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Decent first game in that Naughty Dog series, going to play through the rest. I quite like Nate and Elena. The mutual disinterest in self-preservation makes them work for me, as does the nerdery. Have minimal thoughts on Sully so far. Was absolutely not prepared for the late-game twist in enemy combatants and played through the last quarter of the game yelling whenever I got scared, which was quite often.
Recs
I received this cute Kiyoko/Yachi (Haikyuu) fic in the fandom5k exchange. Great characterizations, covers both canon and post-canon shenanigans.
This Ace Attorney Trilogy vid to Look What You Made Me Do works so frickin well. Did not expect the puns.
