Thanks for reading my letter! I have a little about what I like for each requested group below, along with some prompts, but if you already have something in mind feel free to go for it. My tumblr is also jaggedwolf.

General likes: Loyalty kink (especially of the hero and their right hand variety), seemingly unrequited pining, hurt/comfort, friends to lovers, non-mundane AUs, characters being really competent at what they do, butch female characters, found family, whump

Assume that for all my ships, I would be 100% down for the classic hurt/comfort scenarios where one of them's hurt to the point of being a little insensible but still trying to press through, and the other one finds them and helps

DNWs: Unrequested non-canonical M/F, unhappy endings, requested characters dying, kidfic, pregnancy, non-con, underage

Critical Role

A bunch of nerdy-ass voice actors sit around playing Dungeons and Dragons. The campaign 2 playlist is here, starting from video number nine.

I love how much of a disaster crew the gang is, and as you might guess from my specific requests, I especially enjoy Beauregard's role in that. She's constantly ready to fight, but incapable of letting any question unanswered and very ready to put herself in danger for the Nein. A very good candidate for getting whumped. Jester is light and flippant a lot of them time in an effort to make the others and herself feel better, but sometimes seems surprised by her own sadness at times.

Beau/Jester

They make such a good team, and are so constantly delighted with each other - there's something very sweet about the way Beau always tries to look out for Jester, and how Jester tries to say nice things about Beau when she notices she's feeling down.

Prompts

  • Fight club! These two have such fun getting into fights, against other people or with each other. Sparring turned into kissing?
  • Angst with comfort - Beau dealing with her family and things going badly? Jester having the Traveller betray her in some way? How does the other help?
  • Getting together fic with some pining. Beau obviously thinks Jester is into Fjord. Jester notices that Beau flirts with literally every woman they meet, but not Jester herself.
  • In some weird way, Beau has become the constant, the lynchpin of the Nein. She tends to be the steadiest, the one asking after everyone when it seems like people are reeling from things. What happens when she's finally the one to fall apart? Does it happen slowly or all at once, and what does Jester do when she notices?
  • The day finally comes that Jester gets angry, and Beau gets to see it. What's pissing Jester off?

The Strange Case of Starship Iris

Canon-specific DNW: Arkady wearing a dress/makeup

A space opera podcast about the crew of a small smuggling ship finding themselves unraveling a government conspiracy. Found family feels, romance and purple aliens abound - I've also heard people describe it as "Firefly but with queer and Asian characters", but I've never seen Firefly myself. It recently finished its first season of 10 ~35 minute long episodes, accessible wherever one can find podcasts. The transcripts for the first eight episodes can be found here, with the ones for the last two episodes here and here.

I adore everyone on this show, but I especially adore the three characters in my requests. I love how Arkady is clearly very good at the three things she mentions (hacking, fighting, lying), but kind of a disaster at regular human interaction, her protectiveness of the crew even as she acts irreverent and her fondness for opera because you get to know whether it's a comedy or a tragedy beforehand. I love how Violet keeps pressing through sincerely all this chaos that's been upending her life, as anxious as she is about it, and love her slowly coming to feel at home with the crew. I love how Sana's a genuinely good and caring captain with a firm core to her, everything about her being unwilling to risk her crew and how that makes her a threat.

Violet/Arkady

I enjoy how Violet's weird sincerity keeps throwing Arkady off-balance, them talking each other through things, how impressed they are with each other's competencies, Violet's clear fondness for Arkady. I also love how they misunderstand each other and have to work through things in conversation to get each other's meaning sometimes. Their last conversation in the season finale was delightful to me, but I'm equally with acknowledging it or pretending it didn't happen for fic purposes.

Prompts

  • Arkady getting hurt to make Violet talk was a delicious moment - something along those lines, canon-divergence with the General getting to do more or a different incident along those lines would be amazing to me. How soon does Violet give in? Does Arkady manage to convince her to not? How does it go if the opposite happens (Violet hurt to make Arkady talk), when Violet's never been hurt like that before and Arkady is so much better at dealing with herself getting hurt than anyone else?
  • For whatever reason, Violet doesn't confess when she does in canon and Arkady says nothing herself. They're now trapped on a spaceship (with the rest of the crew) for quite a while since nowhere's safe to land - how do they deal with the proximity? What's stopping either one from finally making a move? A great opportunity for quiet, stupid pining?
  • Sex pollen where one of them is pollened and the other isn't. Whether or not they go through with it, how do they deal with the usual tropey guilt of having used the other one, each of them blaming themselves? What gets accidentally revealed when one of them is at that brink of desperation?
  • On a lighter note and keeping with their canonical get together, how do they "date" on the Iris 2, or honestly get any time alone? Are there any early relationship fumbles, given how disastrous both of them can be?
  • Them having to pretend to be captor and captive for some mission or the other, with Violet as the captor and Arkady as the captive.

Arkady/Sana or Arkady & Sana

God, I love how much history there is between them, the sincerity with which Sana calls Arkady her best friend and depends on her even as she worries about having her do the dirty work, how clearly Arkady believes in what she says about taking a bullet for Sana being the best thing she could do for her life and the way she says "I knew her. She didn't know me" about their time in Cresswin. They both have such different takes on the world, but they get each other.

Prompts

  • I cackle at the idea of 14 year old Arkady having a hero-worship crush (that she would Deny Very Loudly) on 24 year old uprising leader Sana, and then years later they meet-up as they do in canon and after the whole saving each other lives part, they both have a moment of "Oh no she's hot." and have to deal with that.
  • These two are a good pair for FWB to something more serious I think. Arkady's convinced herself that sleeping with the captain is somehow very separate from her very intense feelings about dying for said captain. Sana has fun with Arkady and doesn't push for more, even if some part of her might want it. What might make them get over that hump?
  • Anything exploring the loyalty kink with these two - when did Sana first realize Arkady really would die for her, just like that? What might happen to make Arkady realise that Sana is just as protective of her as vice versa? How does that awful tension of Sana relying on Arkady without a second's thought for the killing and lying but also feeling awful for doing so shift over the course of their time together, even if Sana's too pragmatic to ever stop counting on Arkady?

Violet/Arkady/Sana

I've already talked about two sides of this above, but I'm also fascinated by the Violet/Sana angle. There's that quick "yes" Sana gives when Violet asks if she's ever been able to taste the lack of respect someone has for you. They're both deeply familiar with 'regular' IGR bureaucracy, whatever that means, and I want them to interact more - Violet, constantly surprised to be in an affirming environment for once and Sana having another source of support in Violet who doesn't miss a thing.

As a trio I love the idea of exploring how they work well together and also where the faultlines may be - what might pit two of them against one in an argument?

Prompts

  • Getting together fic with copious pining! Either the Arkady/Sana side or the Violet/Arkady side being established, and Violet/Sana quietly pining and convinced both that they missed their chance and the other two aren't interested. Does Violet think there's no place for her in the shared history Sana and Arkady have? Does Sana see herself as the older captain who should have known better and just wants these two of her crew to be happy?
  • The above but with fake dating shenanigans between the third and one of the couple - excruciating awkwardness galore! Who slips into character perfectly? Who doesn't?
  • Them executing a mission or a heist together, making use of all their competencies, reacting to unexpected flaws in their plan.
  • The three of them kidnapped, and one of them being instructed to pick one of the others and rough them up a bit. Arkady, of course, volunteers to be the roughed up one, but how does it go overall? Does the one doing the hurting feel guilty or relieved when the kidnappers buy it? How does the one forced to watch feel?
  • I like the idea of Violet being the most touch-starved out of them - her life pre the Rumor sounded incredibly lonely. I can see the Rumor crew being a group rife with casual physical affection, and Violet having to get used to that. Which of and how do Sana and Arkady notice that?

Voltron

Canon-specific DNW: Pidge wearing a dress/makeup

That Netflix cartoon about robot lions, you know the drill. I haven't seen the last two seasons, but I'm pretty decently spoiled so please feel free to make as many references to it or not, as you wish.

For this canon, I'd prefer no mentions of Pidge wearing a dress/makeup during the events of the fic (references to her time pre-Voltron, are of course fine).

Pidge/Allura

I like the contrasts between them. Allura's idealism and reliance on magic + physical prowess vs Pidge's ruthlessness and reliance on tech. They're both highly competent but with different attitudes, which is super fun. I'd like to read about them when they're both adults - whether Voltron's accomplished their goals by then or still deep in war is entirely up to you.

Prompts

  • Allura as the leader of the new Altean civilization and Pidge in the shadows doing whatever it takes to keep said civilization safe. How does Allura feel about that? Does she know? Does Pidge care less about what Allura thinks of her than the end result of keeping folks safe?
  • Years after Voltron disbands, Pidge and Allura separately find their way to some alien planet and end up getting fake married because of reasons - the aliens think everyone in Voltron is married? It's some ritual of theirs? Nevertheless, Pidge and Allura have to play along for some period of time. Did one of them have feelings before? Is it spending time together that makes them realise it?
  • They're both very independent people, and used to handling problems on their own without burdening other people. Does it cause them to clash? Or does it just make them both great at giving the other space to do what they do.

We Fix Space Junk

It's a sci-fi podcast that recently finished its first season. It follows seasoned smuggler Kilner and reluctant fugitive Samantha Trapp as they travel the galaxy, carrying out odd jobs on the fringes of the law. I love the classic adjusting to her new reality that former heiress Samantha has to do, her moments of surprise even as she keeps rising to the occasion. Kilner is softer than I expected, every time - she's cynical and has seen a lot of shit, but she's never cruel with her words to Samantha, even when it seems like it could be easy to do. There's also the way she wonders at the Dyson sphere, even after everything in her life.

Samantha Trapp/Kilner

A classic cynical-naive dynamic I adore. I also like the idea of visual contrasts between them - Kilner, with so many body parts replaced and the rest of her body looking worse for wear vs Samantha whole and dazzling even after her time on the job. They work together so well, and have such clear affection for each other. There's that moment where Kilner gets sympathetic about Samantha wanting to contact her mom when they both think they're about to die after the accident, there's the way Samantha never seems to doubt Kilner for a second even with Ms Lamb's insinuations about what Kilner did in her past, Kilner panicking about meeting Ms Lamb at the end of Season 2 and Samantha trying to reassure her.

Prompts

  • Getting together via jealousy - maybe Samantha realising her feelings when she sees Kilner interacting with either Jault or Ms Lamb? Maybe she'd just assumed that Kilner was straight before her history with Lamb was revealed, and now that's happened she can't stop thinking about it?
  • Pining over years of repairing together, neither of them wanting to ruin a good thing - maybe it's not that often two repairmen get to share a ship and be sent on the same jobs, so who'd want to risk that delicate balance when the alternative could be so much lonelier?
  • Sometime far in the future when they're both out of debt. What do their lives look like? What are they doing for work or for fun?
  • Kilner thinking Samantha's interest in her is some kind of cruel joke - she remembers Samantha's undisguised shock the first time they met - and them getting past that stumbling block.

Kilner/Andrea Lamb

The implied history of their lovers to enemies vibe here is delicious. I love that Andrea is also from Pluto and that when they snipe at each other there's still some amount of sentiment there. Andrea tells Kilner she isn't that interesting, and yet she gets defensive about her work. Kilner finds being called into a meeting nerve-wracking, but thinks that Andrea used to be one of them.

Prompts

  • The crocodile incident! How did Kilner lose those body parts? How did it make Andrea want to join corporate, let alone give her the opportunity to do so?
  • What kind of a relationship did they have in the past? Were they training to be repairman to be together? Were they more FWB or were they seriously together when everything fell apart?
